Empowering New Mexico’s Youth and Families
The Lotus Affect is a newly established non-profit organization that emerged from a shared passion for breaking the cycle of intergenerational trauma and nurturing healthy families. We were founded in 2023.
The Lotus Affect is committed to individuals, families, youth, and children of New Mexico. We aim to assist in developing a world where intergenerational trauma doesn’t have to continue. Where
our youth feel comfortable and supported both in their homes and in their communities. As well as assisting families in understanding the strength that they hold, as individuals and as a family throughout. We provide education, support, behavioral health, and various tools to achieve these goals.
Our Programs
Baby Lotus
The Baby Lotus is one of The Lotus Affect’s newest initiatives. It is through The Baby Lotus that we aim to empower parents to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma by providing them with the necessary tools and support to promote healthy families.
With The Baby Lotus, drug-addicted mothers, their newborn babies, and various family members, are able to work with a licensed therapist and a community support worker for at least one year.
During this year families are eligible for Mental Health therapy, including, but not limited to, Infant Mental Health, Trauma Focused Therapy, parenting skills, educational groups, community support,
employment, and financial education, as well as other resources to ensure the future wellbeing of their families.
The Phoenix Affect:
The Phoenix Affect, in partnership with The Lotus Affect, offers a therapeutic approach that includes the expertise of both a Nurse Practitioner and a Mental Health Provider, aimed at assisting those with various mental health conditions, suicidal thoughts, or substance use disorders.
Using Ketamine infusion therapy, The Phoenix Affect addresses conditions such as depression, PTSD, anxiety, substance use, suicidal thoughts, and other mental health challenges.
Throughout your Ketamine infusion, you will be supported by a licensed Mental Health therapist who will guide you in addressing the issues that may have been affecting your mind and body for years.
Mission Statement
The Lotus Flower rises out of the mud without damage, in its own perfection. The word Affect means to influence or produce change. At The Lotus Affect our mission is to help individuals, families, and all New Mexicans rise out of the mud and see their strength. As well as their resiliency and ability to produce the change needed in their lives and the lives of their families.
